The United States of America has had a number of presidents who have brought about development to the country. The twenty fifth president was William McKinley.His Administration was considered one of the great powers of the world.During his inauguration he gave a speech,where mentioned many of the problems that the country was facing in the finacial system, industrial sectors ,foreign policies and the depression affecting the economy .He also suggested how his administration was going to handle this issues.
According to Mckinley the financial system needed some revision.He believed that it caused a constant embarrassment to the Government.He therefore suggested in devising a new system by forming a commission to change the the fiscial laws. He also adressed international bimettalism where the monetary unit were to be equated to either gold or silver. (Bradley, 1997).
On the issue of the depression that the country had been facing that was affecting the agricultural and labour sector. Mckinley suggested that by reviving manufacturing this problem would be solved .He further said that "Economy is demanded in every branch of the Government at all times, but especially in periods, like the present, of depression in business and distress among the people. The severest economy must be observed in all public expenditures, and extravagance stopped wherever it is found, and prevented wherever in the future it may be developed" (famousquotes, 1995).This was not to be a permanent condition for the government.
On Matters of foreign policy, Mckinley promised a just, impartial, ever watchful of their national honor, and always insisting upon the enforcement of the lawful rights of American citizens everywhere.in order to prevent war with other nations.
William Mckinley adressed many of the issues affecting the united states during that period in his inauguration speech.He gave possible solutions to counter the issues of financial system and the deprsesion affecting the economy . His administration implemented many of his ideas and as such Many people attitudes and life styles were changed.
