A job is one of the essential assets for a person since it provides one with earning power and results in personal fulfillment. However, this is not the case when a person engages in a job that he/she does not like because of either wrong career choices or lack of better alternatives. The worst job I ever had was an assembler at the factory. Assemblers and assembly line workers usually face numerous hardships when undertaking their tasks. In addition, factory assemblers worked in a hazardous environment, which posed the need to be extremely careful when working.
The first reason why I consider the factory assembler as the worst job I ever had was the substandard working conditions. For instance, the factory did not have an air conditioning system to regulate the high temperatures associated with summer. The situation was the same in winter because there were no heating systems. The working conditions could not facilitate involvement in productive and meaningful work. The second reason is that there were no employment benefits such as health insurance, vacation time, and medical leave. In addition, there were no compensation benefits despite the hazardous nature of the job.
The case for bad co-workers also contributed to the worst experience when working as an assembler at the factory. The co-workers were always complaining and were not satisfied with the job. In addition, any attempt to work hard in order to secure a promotion was met by negativity from the co-workers. Another reason that worsened my experience when working as an assembler was the hard nature of the job. An assembler had the responsibility of carrying heavy boxes and placing them on pallets. In addition, the job was extremely risky due to the heavy nature of the loads. The situation worsened since the supervisor became mean, this is because he lacked effective line management skills. This resulted in tight working conditions with no room for relaxing from the tiresome job.
