The plot is extremely intriguing
One of the reasons why Sherlock is worth watching is that it contains an adventurous, interesting to follow the crime-solving process. The script is full of smart quotes
Never ending wit and sarcasm, which are represented in almost every line of the script, are impressive. Moreover, well elaborate, excellently good written dialogues make the series and the plot in general a funny and never tiring show, you want to quote in everyday life. For example, such lines of the show have become favorite quotes of all avid fans: “Don’t talk out loud. You lower the IQ of the whole street”, “I’m not a psychopath. I’m a high-functioning sociopath. Do your research”, “Sentiment is a chemical defect found on the losing side”, and etc.
Past vs Modernity
The creators of Sherlock Show, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, tried to modernize the worldwide known Sherlock and Watson characters of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective and without doubt succeeded in reinventing these classic images. Not only will we encounter with the adapted versions of the perspicacious detective and his good at medicine sidekick, but will find lots of connections with the books’ episodes, which makes the modern show even more valuable for all the lovers of Sherlock novels.
The cast couldn’t have been better
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, who play Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, are the perfect matching for their roles. Cumberbatch is brilliant in his role of a self-absorbed, sociopathic genius with deductive brilliance and a good sense of humor. While Freeman seems very realistic in his transformation into an Afghan war veteran, who, though, differs from the novel’s character, plays a perfect foil to eccentric Cumberbatch. It goes without saying that the huge success of the show was due to the marvelous casting and excellent performance of the main actors.
The setting is compelling
Have you even had a chance to travel to London? If not, Sherlock will provide you with a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the most popular and beautiful touristic destinations like Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Chinatown, and many other fascinating places that help the viewer imagine and feel the genuine spirit of the capital of the UK. And it’s not all. A modern update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective stories will give a spectator a chance to observe the exterior views of Cardiff and Wales too. It is hard to believe how the directors managed to picture settings of modern times that are echoed with original stories and events of the book written in the 19th century.
The music will blow your mind
Special admiration and gratitude should be expressed to the great work of David Arnold and Michael Price, who are the composers of the music of the Sherlock series. Each episode, each entangled or intriguing moment is intensified with gripping soundtracks. Each emotion and feeling is underlined with the means of musical accompaniment. Good job, guys!
It won’t take too much time to watch it
Sherlock Show doesn’t require 10 or 15 episodes a season to get you interested, 3 episodes a season are pretty enough to capture, impress, and make you wait till the next season, even if it will be released in 2 years or so. In general, there are 4 seasons of Sherlock series with 3 episodes lasting for 90 minutes each. There is a special Christmas release, which is out of any season.
There are many other reasons, which make Sherlock worth watching like emotionality and facial expressions of the main and supporting cast, villains, costumes, and etc. Each of these reasons put Sherlock into a top list of TV shows. Moreover, it comprises everything from action, drama and suspense to comedy and romance and will match tastes of the pickiest viewers!
