The numerous physical features that the country enjoys include the Mediterranean Sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Black Sea, the Tigris River, Mount Ararat, Lake Tuz, and the famous bridge known as the Bosphorus Bridge, which is located in Istanbul, connecting Europe and Asia. These are some of the features that make Turkey enjoy an increased number of tourists that visit the country just to see the nature that the country has.

Turkey has a vibrant natural environment. Thus, some of the most significant attraction sites for tourists include Mount Ararat which is 5,166 m. It also has a very long coastline that stretches to around 7,200 km; it also has a river Euphrates that is approximately 2,735 km, which continues all the way through Syria and Iraq.

The climate of the state is diverse, with several climate zones. This is because of the seas that surround the country. The coastal areas bordering the Aegean and the Mediterranean Sea have a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Meanwhile, the Black Sea has a moderate Oceanic Climate that is characterized by warm summers, cold to wet winters. Thus, the eastern part of the coast receives an average of 2500 mm of rain annually. The climate makes a holiday in Turkey fantastic as it allows for many outdoor activities such as beach parties, sport fishing, and hiking.

These climatic conditions provide a wide variety of the country's fauna. One can find there such wild animals as Brown Bears, Lynxes, Wild Boar, Deer, Chamois, Otters, Foxes, Camels, Buffaloes, Anatolian Leopard, Caspian Tiger, and Rana holtzi (Toros Frog). This variety of animals attracts many tourists who want to enjoy the beautiful nature of Turkey.

Major Features of the Natural Environment that would be Interesting to Tourists

Turkey is a country with many natural features that are more likely to attract tourists here. This includes the most intriguing lake known as Lake Tuz and the tallest mountain in Turkey, Mount Ararat. These two features are considered the most attractive places in the country; this is because of their unique physical appearance. At the same time, they provide the natural habitat for the unique types of animals that are found in Turkey.

The Ararat massif is a inuque natural formation. The mountain was formed from lava flow. The highest point rises 5,137m above sea level. In West Asia, this is the third most prominent volcanic mountain. Meanwhile, Lake Tuz is the second largest lake in Turkey as it covers an area of 1,665 km2 and is one of the world's largest super-saline lakes. The unique nature of the lake results from the fact that it occupies a tectonic depression that is found in the central plateau of Turkey. The lake is fed by two major streams, underground water, and surface water. Additionally, the lake is unique because it doesn’t have an outlet while its wetlands act as a breeding site for flamingos making it attractive to tourists.

Kind of society the tourists would find at Turkey

Turkey as a country is occupied by people from different religious and ethnic backgrounds that include Turks, Kurds, Caucasians, Arabs, Azerbaijanis, and Armenians amongst other ethical groups. The community that lives around Lake Tuz is most friendly and basically indulges in the activities of salt mining and fishing. Meanwhile, the regions like the one next to Mt. Ararat are mostly inhabited by the Armenian community who are also very friendly. They are known for being the most social and welcoming people. This is reported by Dr. Friedrich Parrot, who is the first mountain explorer to reach the summit of Mount Ararat in the most recent times.

Major heritage resources in Turkey and how they help the tourists to understand the history of Turkey

Lake Tuz is located in the central Anatolia Region which is approximately 105 Km the northern side of Konya, and 150 km southwest of Ankara. The place is located very far from the capital of the country, Istanbul. Despite the location of this region, the cultural customs of the people living there are most attractive to tourists who willingly visit this community. In particular, the people living near the lake have a rich culture that is of great interest to foreigners visiting the region.

The community around Mount Ararat is comprised of Armenians who make up the largest community settled in the area. However, they have a cultural heritage that includes various languages and traditional customs. These people suffered at the hands of the Turks and Kurds in the early 1900s. Armenians are Catholic Christians. Their symbol is Mount Ararat. Not far from the foot of the mountain there is the Armenian Catholic Church.

How tourism has affected the lives of people living in Turkey

The tourists’ activities and frequent visits have positively benefited the community that lives around the most popular attractions. This is because the tourism trade has empowered the villagers to the point of being able to live their life independently. They can use tourism revenues to meet their needs and invest more in the sustainable tourism sector. They also do not have to wait for the government that is based in the capital (Istanbul) to intervene; they are able to improve their lives themselves. These people also make local and traditional products which are sold to the tourists. This is also a source of income. As a result, tourism has empowered the citizens living around this region economically.

Tourism has also contributed to the improvement of the infrastructures in the regions. This is because the national and county governments have created the necessary infrastructure to support tourism in this area. This has eventually resulted in an improved system of communication and bettered the living standards of the communities living in these areas.

What kinds of accommodation are available for tourists who choose Turkey as their destination

The Turkish Tourist Board has joined efforts with the local and international investors in building hotels that meet modern standards. This step ensures  that the visiting tourists will enjoy their stay in nature reserves with the feeling of being at home. The hotels have a traditional Turkish design. Thus, these accommodations provide tourists with a classic Turkish traditional style that is safe and comfortable for tourists.

Kinds of transport tourists would use to visit the destinations

When tourists arrive in the country, they choose road, air or rail transport. These are the options that are available to get to the designated tourist destination. Most tourists choose road and rail transport as their preferred mode of transport, which is best for exploring Turkey. Upon reaching the tourist site, they are transported from one point to another along the road. They can even use the traditional Turkish form of transport, including a donkey caravan. Some tourists prefer to use camels as a means of transportation when traveling around the region.

Local kitchen

The cuisine of the county has a wide variety of foods. This is due to the fact that different ethnic groups live in the country, which include Turks, Kurds, Circassians, Arabs, Azerbaijanis, and Armenians. Tourists will never forget the traditional Mediterranean dishes that are generally based on grains (wheat), seafood, olive oil, vegetables, fruit, dairy, and spices. In the mountainous region, which is mainly inhabited by Armenians, tourists will be able to taste and enjoy the best and most common delicacies such as the khorovats (an Armenian-styled barbecue), Lavash (Armenian rolled bread), kabob which is a mixture of marinated roasted meat and vegetables. There is also one thing in the region that tourists will want to taste - true Armenian fruits. The fruits most common amongst the people living there include grapes, figs, and melons.
