The Libya crisis began on February 2011 and ended with the murder of Muammar Gaddafi on October 20, 2011. The war had begun with violent protest which later resulted into a war. The war was started by anti-Gaddafi forces against the then Libyan government.
The forces from United Kingdom, France, United States and Canada were not humanitarians. They launched missiles, bombs, bullets and troops could do nothing to help the people of Libya. It is said that they are waiting for an opportunity to take control of Libya’s oil reserves.
Social stratification is where people are classified according to their socio-economic activities. It contributed to the war due to the differences of classes. Social control is societal processes that regulate the behavior of an individual so that he or she can conform to rules of a given society. The societal processes which regulate the individual’s behavior were corrupt.
Social construction is the practice of a particular group. Colonel Muammar Gaddafi chose to use his own methods to rule instead of following the rules. Crime is any action that violates the law and results in a punishment. Many criminals were involved in the war.
Deviance is behavior or an action that does not adhere to cultural norms. Extreme form of deviant behavior like murder of protesters made the other protesters more aggressive.
Social movements are informal groups which are focused on political and social issues. The presence of social movements in Libya, National Transitional Council gave support to the protesters and also to the rebels. The civil war in Libya was as a result of protesters who were against the long-time rule of Muammar Gaddafi.
